My Hair Care Journey - Week 2
Hello my good people. I have just completed week 2 of my new hair care journey. If you missed week 1 you can catch it here.
Sooooo this week I attempted several short videos instead of the 875 thousand pics I treated you to last week (you're welcome). Let's hop right to it.
Week 2:
This is my tangled mess before washing, conditioning or styling. I make random faces and gestures for no good reason. We're all going to have to just deal with it (especially me).
This is me washing with my Charcoal Bliss Shampoo Bar. I make sure my hair is thoroughly saturated with water before my first wash and just look at those suds! Once again... I make random faces and gestures for no good reason. We're all going to have to just deal with it (especially me). Also there was something in my eye... besides my contacts... and it hurt. Perfect timing of course...
Here, I am using Tempting Tonic Deep Conditioner. It has great slip to make de-tangling MUCH easier and I lose less hair in the process. I leave it in for 30 minutes after de-tangling then rinse thoroughly.
Once again making random faces and gestures for no good reason. Well this time it is for good reason, I am clearly having flashbacks of having my hair combed as a young child and having to duck and dodge the comb as my mom tried to attack me for not holding still...
Don't tell her I told you about ANY of that!
This is my hair just after rinsing out the Tempting Tonic.
I don't think there was a spot in my bathroom that wasn't completely covered in water after all of this...
After my final rinse, I let my hair air dry just a bit then used 4 pumps of my Sultry Sorcery Leave-In.
Then I used a new gel, that I'm testing, on each section as I proceeded to roll my hair onto 650 thousand perm rods... at least that's what it felt like.
After washing my hair with my Charcoal Bliss Shampoo Bar, then de-tangling and treating my hair with Tempting Tonic Deep Conditioner, I used a few pumps of my Sultry Sorcery Leave-In Conditioner, and a new gel I am testing, to roll my hair on perm rods.
Now I get to take them down and see the results!
I decided to capture how my curls hold up over the next several days, after taking my rollers out. I did wear a ridiculously large muffet to bed each night to at least try to protect my curls from my atrociously wild sleeping habits.
This is the day after I took my rollers out. They held up better compared to the same time-frame in week 1.
(You guys should really see my typos they even make me question my own intelligence ugh!)
This is 2 days after I took my rollers out. They held up better compared to the same time-frame in week 1. I don't even think they made it that far during week 1 actually...
This is 3 days after I took my rollers out. At this time during week 1 I had already given up on the frizz masquerading as curls and combed it out... it was still cute though...
Also what the heck happened to my ridiculous music... ugh!
This is 4 days after I took my rollers out. I decided to go to boot camp the night before and that was pretty much the end of my curls. Enough was finally enough and i went ahead and combed them out. They had a good run. The new gel was very effective with no flakes, but I am struggling with liking the texture, it could be a lot smoother. I'm going to try another batch and report back.
Stay tuned for week 3.
Until Next Time,
